Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Author Studio Plus, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our platform.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Author Studio Plus. By using our service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts.
Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
- You may not share your account with others
Content Ownership and Rights
Your Content
You retain all ownership rights to books and content you create or upload. By publishing content on our platform, you grant us a license to:
- Store and display your content on our platform
- Distribute your content to customers who purchase it
- Use excerpts in promotional materials (with your permission)
Content Standards
You agree not to publish content that:
- Violates copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
- Contains pornography, sexually explicit material, or other adult-oriented content whose primary purpose is sexual arousal or gratification (including in book text, covers, previews, marketing images, or AI-generated assets)
- Contains illegal material or promotes illegal activities
- Is defamatory, harassing, or threatening
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Violates any applicable laws or regulations
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or withhold payouts that violate these standards, at our sole discretion and subject to applicable law.
Revenue Sharing and Payments
For Authors:
- You earn 90% of the sale price for each book sold
- Author Studio Plus retains 10% as a platform fee
- Payments are processed through Stripe Connect
- Minimum payout threshold is currently $10.00 (introductory rate — see disclaimer below)
- Payouts are requested from your dashboard; transfers to your bank typically take 2–7 business days after you request them
- You are responsible for applicable taxes on your earnings
- Publishing on the marketplace does not require a subscription. Optional Author Pro ($9.99/month) and one-time credit packs for AI features are billed separately through Stripe
Payout minimum disclaimer: The $10.00 minimum payout threshold is an introductory offer for early authors on Author Studio Plus. We reserve the right to increase the minimum payout amount after approximately six (6) months from your account creation or from the date we announce a change, whichever is later. Any change will be communicated in advance via email or platform notice and reflected in an updated version of these Terms. Your continued use of payout features after notice constitutes acceptance of the revised minimum.
For Customers:
- All sales are final
- You receive immediate access to purchased books
- Refunds may be issued at our discretion for technical issues
AI-Generated Content
Our platform includes AI-powered tools for content creation and cover design. When using these tools:
- You are responsible for reviewing and approving all AI-generated content
- You must ensure AI-generated content meets our content standards
- You retain ownership of content created with our AI tools
Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use automated tools to scrape or download content
- Manipulate sales, reviews, or rankings
- Impersonate other users or entities
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the platform
- Circumvent payment processing or revenue sharing
Intellectual Property
The Author Studio Plus platform, including its design, features, and branding, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer any part of our platform.
Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms of Service
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Publish prohibited content
- Pose a security or legal risk
You may close your account at any time through your account settings.
Disclaimers
Service provided "as is": We provide the platform without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
No guarantee of sales: We do not guarantee that your books will generate any specific level of sales or income.
Payout minimum subject to change: The introductory $10.00 payout minimum described above is not guaranteed for the life of your account and may be revised as described in the Revenue Sharing and Payments section.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Author Studio Plus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or platform notification. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration.
